WISDOM PT 2
Good day beloved...Happy new week... I want to believe your Sunday was productive. I want to greet and salute you all for your support and encouragement last week on my blog... It was one of ease, and less stressful though challenging but we are still at it, coming out better, stronger and more fulfilled. Cheers to you.
So today we will continue our wisdom series, one I find needful at such times as this. We talked last about the four kinds of wisdom according to the book of James.. Let me add that common sense would only but give you common results and divine wisdom supersedes all other kinds of wisdom...looking at the story of the adulterous woman in John 8:6-9..... By common sense she was supposed to be stoned but by divine wisdom Jesus made those accusers to drop their stones and flee.
Today we will be concentrating on divine wisdom; looking at its virtues, channels of divine wisdom, and what to do to sustain access to divine wisdom.
Starting out, divine wisdom is the divine insight into God's word and other issues of life. This is exemplified by the story of Daniel and the interpretation of the King's dream which could only be by divine wisdom not common sense.
Virtues of Divine wisdom are;
1. It guarantees happiness or joy. Proverbs 3:13
2.It guarantees delivery of your desires. Proverbs 3:14-15
3.Longevity is guaranteed. Proverbs 3:16
4. It delivers riches and honour.
Proverbs 3:16
5.It grants you peace. Proverbs 3:17
6.Life oozes forth from divine wisdom. Proverbs 3:18
***Behind every crisis or pain, is lack of wisdom.
The church is the school of wisdom and our professor is the Holy Ghost. Divine wisdom is accessible by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and when He breathes on your mind, He delivers divine wisdom to you. It was by this wisdom that the Israelites crossed the Red sea. Inspiration is Holy Spirit provoked insight and it comes by the move of the Holy Spirit. It enhances your capacity to draw insight from what you see, hear, read,and study.
When you use your energy and resources for the wrong things, when you need it, you won't find it. Proverbs 24:30-34 talks about a little sleep, a little slumber... Many are poor cos of sleep and idleness is a killer!!!
The channels of divine wisdom are:
1. Fear of God... Which the Bible says is the beginning of wisdom, so get it and in all thy getting, get understanding. Proverbs 8:13 says to fear God is to hate evil, pride, arrogance, perverse mouth,evil way.. ie living a sin-free life, walking in uprightness, holiness and righteousness. Example is Joseph and we remember the story with Potiphar's wife. Purity gives you access to divine wisdom. T.L Osborn said when you sin, something in you dies and we have seen with wisdom comes life and thus it's not compatible with sin.
2. Word encounter.. 1Timothy 4:13-15
When you meditate on what you read, you connect to divine wisdom.. More so, Jesus Christ is the word of God.. And the Bible says Christ has been made the power and wisdom of God 1 Corinthians 1:24,Colossians 1:27...so as you are in Christ, you are a carrier of the wisdom of God and as you meditate on the word of God which is Christ, you are accessible to the wisdom of God.
3) The empowerment of the Holy Ghost. Divine wisdom is by relation and it is the Holy Ghost that reveals it to us as He is the spirit of wisdom and revelation. (Ephesians 1:17-19).
The way to sustain access to divine wisdom is firstly by being born again cos until you have the life of God,you can't access the wisdom of God and secondly to be filled with the Holy Ghost cos He is the custodian of divine wisdom.
Finally, I would end by saying your wisdom sufficiency equals your glory sufficiency but your wisdom deficiency ensures shame sufficiency!!
Go for wisdom this day.. Wealth and riches shall be in the house of the wise. The wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament. Choose to be wise... Get books that impart you with divine wisdom and see yourself scaling through heights! Jesus was wise and became a wonder to the world and as He is so you ought to be...
