ATTITUDE SERIES 6
Wow wow wow.... Happy weekend darlings... This week's series has been the most exciting so far cos I know it's bringing out the best in us and thus causing us to soar higher in life. I'm grateful for your consistency this far in reading, sharing, liking and commenting. You do to me what honey is to the soul and body. So much love for you.
To bring our series to an almost end... Today we will be looking at humility as an attitude we ought to possess to go far in life..
THE ATTITUDE OF HUMILITY.
".....and be clothed in humility...(1Peter5:5)".
Ok the thing about this topic is that there's no end to it likewise the others.. You have to keep doing a self check to observe your attitudes. It's ironical that people sometimes are proud of how humble they are.. How does that co-relate?
In simple terms Humility is endorsing for yourself God's sight or views of you and accepting it as yours. It goes beyond the outward shows of bowing down to an elder or saying 'Yes sir' or 'yes ma'. It comes from the heart. So, to say you are humble means you accept the fact that You are the rich, the success, the holy, the righteousness of God, the able, the excellent, a saint,the healed, that God has called you to be irrespective of the obvious and act that way. That's been real and that's faith. Real cos the word of God is the truth and as such the highest form of reality. So it's a lie when you say you can't or you are sick... Cos God's words has said you can do all things and you are the healed of God, so when you believe that lie and believe in it you are proud actually.
That been said... I'm going to be touching one or two characters of a humble person. First of which is humble people are great listeners and teachable. You are only proud, when you get to a gathering or church for example and you don't jot down what the preacher is saying though you nod your head in approval and clap your hands and dance till you sweat. Sweetie lemme tell you what you are doing, like I said humility or pride has nothing to do with the outside facades.... When you don't pen down an instruction or teaching or even do your assignment you are either saying you already know that thing and no need and the person should talk fast let you go cos it's an old thing to you.. Or you are saying you are too big for this thing. Now How do you behave during your quiet time? When you are done, do you just rush out....? Or do you wait to scribble a thing or two that God is saying through the help of the Holy Spirit?
That's why God looks at the heart and gives more grace to the humble. If you must deal with pride, it must be dealt from within through a decision and a change of mindset. God hates the proud and you should hate what God hates. Not doing your spiritual assignments is a full blown manifestation of pride. And that's dangerous. When you humble yourself to write or do your assignment, it gives you this teachable mentality... And opens your eyes more cos the more proud you are the dumber you become, you become empty but deceiving yourself you know something. When others are moving forward and learning new things... You are going down cos you aren't teachable.
Then still on listening, it is very rude and a thing of pride when you interrupt someone who is talking already. When you do that you are saying ...Hush! I have something important and better to say than yours that you must listen to me. That's devilish and so irritating... It's very disrespectful. A proud person puts himself forward in life first. What stops you from taking a chill till he finishes his opinion? And must you really talk? A proud person likes to show all he knows even when not asked. That's not nice. Being proud is like being enveloped in a smoke and you will definitely get choked up. You must not air your views. As a matter of fact I believe it's more honorable to air your opinions when it's demanded. Keep your thoughts to yourself...
Also when listening, some people listen not with the intent of understanding but just to reply back and that's what causes most misunderstandings... Nobody is patient to really understand while listening... Everyone wants to talk. And anywhere there is strife or division, there's pride in full force.
Sometimes you're given an instruction to do something, firstly you don't pen them down... Secondly, you just do the one you feel like... Hmmm that's not nice... Listening to do what your boss or whosoever says not what you think it's better cos you feel you are smarter and you know better. You are just making your way straight for failure and shame.
So dearly beloved, try as much as you can to work on it. The good thing is that you see yourself for yourself and you can develop and work on yourself... So you should Pls work on being more humble than you have ever been so that more grace will be accrued to you. And thus open greater doors for your promotions in life.
