FINANCIAL PLAN

"Whatever your hand findeth to do, do it with your might, for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going. (Ecclesiastes 9:10)".

OK so yesterday I ended the post by talking a little about investments.. The best thing I hold on to and has been so
effective for me in my financial intelligence is that I have to cultivate the habit of saving to invest or reinvest not just to keep in one bank or the other. Put your money to work.. Give it an  assignment.

I got this understanding while listening to Pst. Sunday Adelaja last year and I'm going to share an example of a kind of financial plan you ought to have... you can always restructure from my plan.

Here it is...
When you earn or receive an income you should structure your financial spending/investments this way...

Tithe 10%
Offering 5%
Ministry 5%
Pay yourself 30%
Then your Rent, Feeding, Transport, Gifts to people or your parents, children, friends, or spouse, etc can share the remaining 50%.
But if you have debts you can pay 5% from the 50%.

I would emphasize more on the 'Pay yourself'. 30% is the maximum you should pay yourself. You can pay yourself 10% or so but you must target to get to 30%. Why Pay yourself?  When you pay for transport, groceries, or gifts and rent  who do you think you are helping actually to grow financially? You think them so important to pay them.  How about yourself that has the money? So you think of helping yourself to be financially rich? Have a rethink.

The essence of pay yourself is so you save up that percentage and invest the money in something productive. You can put it in a business you operate or invest it in someone's business and have your return at the end of the day and turn it over again in investments.

That's the secret! It's not advisable to pay up all your debts with all your money and have nothing to pay yourself. You can clear your debts installmentally because they MUST BE PAID. Because you are a Christian doesn't exempt you from paying up your debts. The rule is always to have something to pay yourself and CONSISTENCY IS KEY!

So please get back to me by commenting on how needful and useful you saw this post. You need to have a gmail account to be able to comment. God bless you.
